Waiting List

While I was neglecting my blog, I went to Minnesota (See Dev? It's a state.)
On my trip I:

Got on 5 different planes, but only left the ground in 3 of them.
Eventually ended up in this place:
Stayed on the 20th floor of a hotel where the elevators were as fast as race cars.
(See how the number changed faster than my camera could take the picture?)
Put down this floor in a 10X10 booth
It took me more than 5 hours.
Eventually it looked like this: AKA awesome
PS Click here to see my mom's website.
Drove out to Wisconsin just because my parents wanted to help me fulfill my dream of visiting all 50 states.
Went to the Mall of America.
PS It's not all it's crackedup to be.
Swam with sharks.

And found out I got into this place:

BYU JERUSALEM.

I have wanted to go there SO BAD since November and I have been saving every penny to be able to go. I applied in April and I found out 2 weeks later that I was #5 on the waiting list. But I knew I was going to go. The lady from the Jeru office called me when we were on our way to Minnesota. And my mom started FREAKING out. Jumping up and down and yelling, "You're going to Israel!!"

In the airport.

With lots of people watching.

She was more excited than I was because apparently she didn't think I would move off of that waiting list. So I paid my 1st payment three days later and I am officially heading to Jerusalem on August 31st.

Now I just have to come up with $9,000 more dollars...

This Garbage Truck

was in front of me on my way to work today.

It didn't bother me so much, except that it was going really slow.
And then there was garbage flying out of it and hitting my car.
And then it bothered me a lot.

Yesterday...

I taught my niece how to play the piano

She was really good.

Plus she's the
cutest
baby there is.

And you can read books on this thing...

I love these guys.

Jared got an iPad recently.
Dev and I watched him and Morgan play with it last night.
It helped ease the pain of the Jazz game.
After that I proceeded to tell them that I wasn't at P90X yesterday because I was having a great dream and I HAD to finish it. They laughed at me.
Then we made delicious cookies (with a Silpat--Thanks to Devon) and secretly doorbell ditched them.
Jared and Morgan wore these headbands the entire time.
And we laughed and talked long into the night while we said our goodbyes to Josef.

It was a goodnight.

No One Here But Me

Since everyone is out of the office today and I am pretty much alone in this place, I decided to check things out. They told me my key would open most doors in this building.

They lied.
I tried and it definitely didn't open MOST of them. At least it opened this one that goes to the attic.

But this building is still way cool.

There is a conference room with a fridge where people who have meetings keep their leftovers. Guess who gets to eat the leftovers...

The bathrooms smell really good and they have marble stalls. I threw up in there recently. Gross.

I can wear my hair in a ponytail everyday because I never see anyone that I would need/feelthedesire to impress.

I answer phones and look at blogs all day. In the last 6 1/2 hours, 2 people have called.

Downer: the drinking fountains never get cold. BUT, the conference room also has a water cooler with delicious cool water for me to use at my leisure.

There is a faux 4th floor that actually just goes to the balcony of this little beauty:

Sidenote: This is also the room where I met JEW back in the good old days of 2006.

Yeah, I like this place.

This isn't WORKing

I work on BYU campus in a little building that no one ever goes in--the Maeser Building. It's been here since 1911 and it's pretty neat, but it just doesn't get used very often. Here's the thing...I work with some people:

Karen-the lingerer. When you think your conversation is over (even if IT IS over), she just lingers around, silently, awkwardly, as if to say, "I'm still here if you have anything you forgot to say to me." Also, she has a British accent.

Ashley-uses the elevator to get down ONE story; never, ever makes eye contact; is a one upper and is also a tattle-tale.

Rory-VERY interesting old man. Majored in costume design ( a true thespian); sings when he speaks. I always thought he was kind of cooky until he went to the bathroom to brush his teeth after lunch the other day.

Then I realized we have more in common than I thought.

That'll teach me.
