Shalom...

Old poster from 1936. Still cool.

Me being really touristy. Fanny pack, huge water bottle, Chacos on my feet, a money belt under my shirt, and peace signs.

The view from the top of Damascus Gate right into the Old City.

A shop in the Christian Quarters where we got some genie pants. It really is like Aladdin here.

For Josef. The Finest Vodka of Finland...in Israel.
PS Josef is a common name here. It makes me think of you every time I hear it.

Hannah, Nataly and me at the Garden of Gethsemane. If it looks like we're really hot, we were. I think a few of us got heat exhaustion that day.

On top of the Old City wall. It's a really far drop behind where I was standing.

Bullet holes in a building. Don't worry mom, they're pretty old.

Heading into Zedekiah's Cave underneath the Old City that was really an old stone quarry.

Overlooking Bethlehem. We can't go over there because of the wall that divides it and Jerusalem.

We have been doing so many amazing things in the past few days. We have walked around the city and old city a bunch, gone to Gethsemane (FYI You should never walk to Gethsemane in a million degree weather when you have been fasting all day and you don't have any water with you), bought genie pants, almost been pick-pocketed, walked along the top of the old city wall, saw four different views of Jerusalem outside of the city, tried some new food and ate it in a cave, bartered for good prices in the Christian Quarters, started school and all of the homework that comes with it, took the sacrament overlooking the place where Christ first administered it 2,000 years ago, learned some Hebrew and Arabic phrases... and it's only been 5 days!

  2. heat exhaustion??? HA You don't know the meaning of heat exhaustion until you've been to Masada with temperatures of 120 with 100% humidity. or Galilee. Or Egypt.

Joke. It's still way hot, right?
